  5. I am reading Kiran Desai's "Inheritance of Loss" now.

"Fasting, Feasting", by Anita Desai, is quite good. It's not my favorite one by her (toss-up between "Fire on the Mountain" and "Baumgartner's Bombay"), but all her stuff is so good that it's well worth the read.

The library just called to tell Jhumpa Lahiri's "The Namesake" is in for me, hooray! If you can get your hands on her book of short stories, "Interpreter of Maladies," grab it! It's absolutely poignant.

Geets, did you see that you have a live favourable review?
Rohini, read a -ve review of "I..of L.. , which made me hesitate about reading it.
Eve' L-a rare case of the movie being better than the book?
HipG the books chosen by you have also got a good review from EL. So must read.
Esbee--you seem well up on Indian authors!
